The Mars Rover team from United International University has made history by becoming the first team from Bangladesh and Asia in two decades to secure a podium finish at the prestigious University Rover Challenge 2026. Competing in Utah, USA, from May 27–30, the team finished third overall in the international contest.
Representing the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, the team scored 400.44 points across five categories: System Acceptance Review, Science Mission, Delivery Mission, Equipment Servicing Mission, and Autonomous Navigation Mission. They also earned the Best Autonomous System Recognition, marking a significant achievement for Bangladesh in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and space technology.
