A five-member delegation from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), led by Sergio Dimas de Oliveira, inspected Dhaka’s National Stadium on Sunday.
The delegation arrived from Kolkata, where they had inspected Salt Lake Stadium ahead of Brazil’s October 3 friendly against India. During their 45-minute visit, they assessed the newly laid pitch, dressing rooms, drainage system and other facilities.
BFF executive committee member Iqbal Hossain said Brazil indicated that Bangladesh’s National Stadium could potentially be used as a neutral venue or for a future friendly against Bangladesh.
He said the BFF informed the delegation that stadium preparations are ongoing and could take another two weeks to complete. The CBF officials also spoke with the groundsmen and may return for another inspection if necessary.
Iqbal added that there were no discussions about Brazil holding a training session at the venue before their match against India.
