Trump initially proposed granting automatic green cards to all foreign college students graduating in the US, marking a reversal from his previous immigration policies targeting high-skilled workers and students. However, his campaign's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, quickly clarified that any such program would involve rigorous vetting. The vetting process, she explained, would exclude individuals deemed to be communists, radical Islamists, Hamas supporters, America detractors, or those likely to become public charges. Furthermore, the policy would specifically benefit highly skilled graduates capable of making substantial contributions to the United States.
