About 800 tourists are trapped in Sajek due to flash floods

Around 800 tourists are stranded in Sajek due to flash floods halting traffic on the Baghaihat-Sajek road. Subarna Dev Barman, president of the Sajek Cottage Owners' Association, reported the situation, citing communication breakdowns caused by inundated roads. In Baghaichhari, heavy rains have flooded low-lying areas, affecting traffic on the Rangamati-Khagrachhari road. Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhter confirmed the disruption, while Rangamati Roads and Highways Department Executive Engineer Subaj Chakma noted a minor landslide impacting the Rangamati-Khagrachhari road earlier today.
