A Pakistani man intending to establish the country's first gay club to support the "most neglected community" has been committed to a mental hospital, according to a report. He had submitted an application to the deputy commissioner to set up the gay club in Abbottabad, a conservative city noted for being where terrorist Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011. His goal was to raise awareness and provide support for the LGBTQ+ community in a highly conservative region.
