Leike criticized the company for prioritizing product development over safety measures, emphasizing the importance of addressing the implications of AGI. OpenAI reassigned some team members, and CEO Sam Altman expressed gratitude for Leike's contributions. The dissolution follows the launch of an updated ChatGPT capable of real-time conversation, reminiscent of the film "Her." Despite the upheaval, Sutskever expressed confidence in OpenAI's ability to develop safe and beneficial AGI. Earlier, a leadership dispute involving Altman had caused turmoil but was determined unrelated to AI research or development pace.
