The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked banks to provide financial records of popular YouTuber Salman Muqtadir within 30 minutes, according to a letter issued today.
Banks were instructed to urgently submit his personal account details, account opening form and transaction statements. The letter was obtained by The Daily Star.
A managing director of a commercial bank confirmed receiving the request, while the reason for the BFIU’s inquiry remains unclear.
A BFIU official said such requests are part of the agency’s routine anti-money laundering activities and do not necessarily suggest any wrongdoing.
