First time in history, saudi women joins kaaba kiswa replacement ceremony

For the first time in history, Saudi women participated in the ceremonial changing of the Kaaba’s Kiswa. They assisted by carrying parts of the Kiswa and handing them over to male workers, who then transported them to the Grand Mosque. While their involvement was limited to the preparatory stage, the actual changing was done by an all-male team. The event, showcased by the Saudi press agency, highlights Saudi Arabia's progress in empowering women. The Kiswa, made with significant amounts of silk, gold, and silver threads, was crafted by 159 craftsmen from the King Abdul Aziz Complex.
