India will pay Bangladesh around 300 taka per ton for using its railway route

Following the rail transit agreement between India and Bangladesh, India will offer significant financial aid to facilitate train operations through Bangladesh. While the precise amount of financial support hasn't been confirmed, sources suggest that about 300 Bangladeshi Taka per ton will be paid for freight transport. Despite the agreement, India will not be able to operate trains on all routes within Bangladesh. Currently, five routes are operational: three for passenger trains and two for freight. Per regulations, when an Indian train reaches the border, a Bangladeshi rail engine will take over for transit through Bangladesh.
