Sheikh Hasina before the verdict: ‘I don’t care; Allah gave life, and He will take it.’

Ahead of the International Crimes Tribunal verdict on charges of crimes against humanity, ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the allegations false in an audio message to her supporters. She accused the interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus of attempting to politically eliminate her and her party. Hasina, 78, emphasized that she is unafraid of the verdict, saying, “God gave me life, God will take it. I will continue to work for the people.” She condemned the amnesty given to killers of policemen, Awami League members, and journalists, calling it a denial of justice for victims’ families. Hasina criticized the current situation in Bangladesh, highlighting rising unemployment, declining production, and industrial closures, and vowed to restore the country. She reaffirmed her connection with the people, promising accountability and a return to work for the nation’s welfare.
