NID Cards Labeled 'Madness' to Be Reactivated by Election Commission

The Election Commission (EC) has initiated steps to reactivate national identity cards (NIDs) with a "madness" status, which means "unsound mind" or "mentally unstable". A directive signed by Aminul Islam, an assistant programmer in the EC's NID division, was sent to the field administration. The directive states that the "madness" status was incorrectly assigned during voter registration, resulting in citizens being deprived of all civic services. The directive requests a list of voters from the Card Management System software using the "madness" status, and requests a letter from the Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing for the reactivation of the necessary cards.
